We Have a Winner!

Conversation with Matty last night at 1:00AM

Me: Hey, can you help me pick winner for my RAK?
Matt: Huh? Followed by the face below.

Me: Yes, the RAK I have up on my blog right now.
Matt: You put a picture of your rack (meaning breasts) on your blog?
Me: No, not MY rack. My R.A.K. (followed by an explanation of what a RAK is).
Matt: Ooohhh. You had me worried there for a second.

So, I had him pick a number between 1-49. So, not counting any of the deleted comments, he chose the #32. So, Ingunn....you are the big winner! Email me your address info!!

Thanks for everyone who left me amazing comments with so many cool and interesting places all over world. I loved reading each and everyone of them.

Last night I had a sloppy good time at Happy Hour with some old sorority friends. We were talking about how incredibly weird sororities are. The rituals, the hazing, the secret handshakes, the meetings, and passwords of all sorts. These crazy 19th century bitches thought it would be good ideas to start mini-cults and over 100 years later apparently we agree. Haha.

I'm catching a flight to Chicago in a few hours. So excited to have dinner with my good friend Jodi, and party with all of Matt's ridiculously funny friends at the wedding. Everyone have a good weekend. Thanks for reading!

When You're Feeling Unmotivated & Lazy...Sign Up for a Triathlon

So, here is how it started.

I started going back to swim practice last week after a 3 week hiatus. I got placed in a swim lane with 4 triathletes. They were strong, healthy, determined, physically fit, and so motivating. I've always wanted to do a Triathlon and they really got me thinking....

So yesterday, I stumble across 43 Things and totally fell in love with the site. So I signed up, and added "complete a triathlon" to my list of things I wanted to do. Then, it totally hit me this morning. I said to myself "Stop saying you're going to do things! Just shut up and DO THEM!" Good self advice, right? So, I went to the USA Triathlon website, followed by TriFind, and searched for Sprint Triathlons in the area. And I found the most perfect one....so I signed up!! Ahhhh, can you believe it? I'm going to participate in my very first Triathlon. Matt is being so supportive. He has done 3 triathlons before and he also decided to sign up! I couldn't be happier right now. I hope this really gets my ass going and keeps me motivated. Dude, I'm going to be a triathlete! How effing cool is that? I am loving life today.

Thanks to everyone who left comments for the RAK! I have to make an small edit...I will post the winner TOMORROW morning. Not Friday! I want to be able to ship out the package before I leave for Chicago! Ok, so check back then to see who gets all the BG goodies.

Who Likes Basic Grey?

Who's ready for a RAK?

I have way too much stuff, especially Basic Grey papers. I won some limited edition BG stuff at the Scrap Etc Event. And just have collected way too much from recent monthly kits. Most of the BG is the new Blush line. I'm also adding some HS tape, AC ribbon, and some surprise goodies from Paper Source. So, leave me a comment telling me about your favorite city/country/place in the entire world. I will pick a winner on Friday.

Here is my take on the lastest Scrapjack. Whoop Whoop!

Oh and in case you were wondering. My favorite place in the entire world is Sevilla, Spain. The delicious food. The fabulous people. The sights. The smell of orange trees in the spring. The culture and history. The weather. The good looking Sevillanos. The sexy Spanish accent. Feria in April. Semana Santa. The shopping. The bull fights. All the beautiful parks. The list goes on. And on. Not a day goes by that I don't miss living there.
Ok, happy Tuesday! Don't forget...leave a comment!

Back at Work

I had a nice long weekend. I didn't work Thursday and Friday because I wasn't feeling well. And even though I had a four day weekend, I am still bitter to be sitting here, in my cube, on yet another mundance Monday morning. Working here is killing me softly. On one end of the stick, I should be thankful to have a very lenient job. A job that pays me well, especially for the amount of work I (don't) do. A job that involves no overtime, 40 hour work weeks (or less), hardly any deadlines, and easy going bosses. But on the flip side, this job is not rewarding. I have evolved from hard working, goal-oriented, and determined person, to a very lazy and highly unmotivated person. Most importantly, this job is killing my creativity. So, on that note...some creative things I did over the weekend:

Last, but not least. I bought these adorable Cole Haan shoes this weekend to go with my oh-so fabulous BCBG dress. I have a wedding this weekend in Chicago and I will be rocking these babies with a huge smile on my face. I'm wearing them to work today and I feel better about being here everytime I look down at my feet. I mean, I don't mean to brag, but my feet look tre cute today! Ok, back to work. If you need me, I'll be stuck in an office from 9-5 for the next 40 years!! How depressing! Au revoir!

I Need A New Profile Pic

I have yet to do this.
But I will soon.
I promise.
And I still owe you guys a picture of the new hair from the front.
I haven't had the time. Sorry!

Random Things that are making me HAPPY:

I'm wearing hot pink today.
Matt sent me another random email today that cracked me up.
I have Italian class tonight - molto bene!
I am actually being productive at work.
I am making plans for HH next week with my lady friends.
I can't wait to tackle THIS. Love her work. She really inspires me.
My mom loves my hair & says I now look like her circa 1970 something. Love that!
I can still make a tiny ponytail with the longer pieces of hair.
I worked out twice yesterday. Total cardio time = 1 hour 45 min!
I am eating some delicious cherries from Costco.
This KIT looks delicious. I might have to get it.

And last but not least. My friend Megan just got back from her honeymoon. So, I ask her to send me some photots. And most of them are beautiful panoramic pictures, or pics of the ocean, or pics of her on the beach. And then out of nowhere comes this one. I almost died laughing. Aren't they the cutest couple ever? Haha.

"She Raped My Head"

Get ready for a long-ass post!

So, yesterday, was the big day. The Extreme Hair Makeover Day. But before heading to the salon, Matt and I decided to have a ridiculously random photo-shoot. It was my last attempt to have fun with my long hair. I have never laughed so hard. I love our spontanous, and super stupid moments. Matt played along , because as we all know, he has long hair too. But, I will have to post those later. This post is all about me, dammit! Haha.
Every good transformation needs a before and afer picture. Here is the before:

So, I head to the salon. I'm not nervous. I'm ready to be crazy. I'm ready to do whatever my hairdresser tells me too. I was in a "you only live once" kinda mood. But first, the pony tail must come off. She cut off about 11-12 inches! Eeeek! I must say, it was a very liberating feeling.

I need to mention that my very good friend Maggi came with me. I emailed her totally last minute, and she still made time to come hold my hand through this crazy journey! I am so happy she came. She's had her hair all sorts of lenghts, all sorts of colors, and done all sorts of crazy, funky, totally different haircuts. It was inspiring to have her there with me. She told me to just relax and have fun with it and that is what I did. She seriously rocks!

Ok, I guess I'll just cut to the chase. There is no reason to show you pictures of Tina actually cutting my hair. Or the hundreds of thousands strands of hair on the floor. Or my reaction when I realized that the hair in the back of my head was about an inch long. Or when it hit me that I won't be able to make a ponytail for many more months. Tina decided to leave the hair in the front longer and make it super funky short in the back. She put auburn and blonde streaks in my hair. She looked like she was having so much fun. And I'm happy it was a fun experience for both of us. Maggi kept saying "you are meant to have short hair!" hehe. I was in the salon for 3.5 hours. I love how it turned out. I love the change. I love the transformation. I love that I had the balls to do something completely different. It was fun getting out of my comfort zone. Here is the picture from the back.

You will just have to wait and see a picture from the front! I don't want to give it all away too soon. So happy its Friday! I'm going skydiving tomorrow! This has been a big week for me. Lots of firsts. Lots of change. Lots of butterflies in my stomach. Wish me luck for tomorrow. I hope I live to tell about it. =)

He Makes Fun of My Blog

He always has some sort of comment. Like, how bloggin is dorky. Or that I might not have MySpace, but that I'm just "as bad" because I have a blog. It's all in good fun of course, and I don't mind him joking around about it at all. But yesterday, he wrote me this email:

Subject: 10 Random Things

Hope your day is going well! I just thought I'd share 10 random things I was thinking about right now on my study break. I bet you'll find 'em "blog-worthy":

1. There is no such thing as too much garlic in food.
2. Pennies are really, really annoying.
3. I'm no tree-hugging hippie, but people that don't recycle really piss me off.
4. I'd rather be bitten by bugs or have sunburn than wear bug spray or sunblock.
5. WTF are eye boogers made out of? For that matter, what are boogers made out of?
6. Houses/apartments never have enough power outlets, or power outlets in the right places.
7. Ya gots ta be able to drive stick shift, son!
8. Diet Coke = legalized crack cocaine.
9. Online bill pay is perhaps the greatest thing ever. Next to MTV's Rob and Big, that is.
10. Is "fart" a bad word? If so, why? Just because it's funny? The peeps at Merriam-Webster are a bunch of haters.

Followed by: "I should become a "guest blogger" on your blog. I bet I'd increase the web traffic 10x over!"

So there you have it. My boyfriend wants to be a guest blogger. Haha, ok not really, because he was joking. But it was still funny for him to say that. I love that I have a boyfriend who makes me laugh every single day.

In other news, my internet at home is down. So aggrivating! It is almost impossible to live without internet. Serioulsy, I don't even remember life without it. Ok, that is an extreme comment, but you know what I mean. I wanted to post a picture of my long hair. Because in a matter of days it's all going to be GONE! I'm donating it. Originally to Locks of Love, and now after reading Scarlet's Post about Pantene's Beautiful Lenghts Campaign I am thinking maybe I'll donate there. Well, regardless, I'm donating about 11 inches of hair and I'm super nervous but very exciting about doing something to help others. Even if I look like a boy with short hair, it will be worth it knowing that I am helping a child, or woman in need.

Happy Little Things

I love how Stacey comes up with a list of her happy things. So, I've decided to copy her. I hope she doesn't mind. But, for now, I will only do my top five favorite happy things. Here goes:

1. Nelly Furtado - Going to see her in concert tonight. I wouldn't say I'm super excited (I think it's just because I'm really tired right now). But, I am happy to do something out of the ordinary. And definitely listen to some high energy tunes. It should be a good time!

2. Knocked Up - This movie was effing hilarious! No, really! It was the funniest movie I have seen in a while. It was SO funny, that I am tempted to go see it again. If you haven't seen it, then I suggest you run to the nearest movie theater to watch it. You will be so happy you did. I promise you'll LOL a lot.

3. Boca Raton real estate - My mom and I had so much fun just driving around and looking at the beautiful houses in Boca. Love the architecture. Love the landscaping. Love the palm trees. Love the ocean front mansions. I loved everything about it.
4. Scrap in Style - This site is so much fun to cruise around. I love how it tells me when all my favorite "Sisters" have added pages. So convenient. So practical. Love it.
5. Card-A-Day - I got the idea from Elise, who got it from Emily. I started it on June 1 and I've been super good about keeping up with it. I love the idea of being artsy everyday. I always feel like I don't have time to do so, but by starting small, i.e. a playing card, then it makes the task easier to achieve. I'll post a sneak soon.
What is everyone doing this weekend?? I hope to get some sun at the pool, wash my car, go on a long bike ride, and make empanadas with my grandma Juli. And maybe some scrappy work along the way.

Florida = Frizzy Hair

Boca Raton is awesome.
Pass it on.

Remember that game?
The "Pass it On" game.
AKA. Telephone.
Ahhh, good times.

Anyways, guess who caught the bouquet at the wedding?
Yep, yours truly.
I was in serious SHOCK when it happened.
Seriously. I did not want the damn bouquet.
I was just there for moral support for my friends who did want it.
So, I'm standing there, la-di-da.
And I swear to you. If I hadn't put my hands up...
The damn bouquet would have hit me right on my head.
It was like it was meant for me.
So, I catch it. And immediately look over at Matt.
And he is giving me the look of death.
And so I try to hand it off to someone else.
And everyone just kept laughing at me.
I'm screaming "somebody take this!!"
And everyone is just laughing. And laughing.
Because they knew I didn't want it.
I swear I almost started crying.
It was a very stressful situation for me.
Most girls kill to catch the bouquet.
I just wanted to cry.
Yes, I'm not normal.
Meggers - Love you!

Anyways, I'm in Boca Raton.
I went to a real-life scrap store.
It felt so good to be in one after so long.
And now, I'm going to the beach.
Love it here. Like, really deep down, love it.
Palm trees make me feel comfortable.
And humidity makes my hair frizz.
Regardless, I'm happy. Bouquet and all.

The First to Go

She is the first. The first of my friends who bought her own place. She was the first girl who moved in with her boyfriend. She was the first to get engaged. Her bachelorette party was the first one I have ever been too. And today, she will be the first of my friend's to tie the knot. I am so incredibly happy for her. She deserves nothing but the best. And I know her and Joe will be together forever. I love you Meggers! I can't wait for you to become a Garcia, just like me! hehe.
Tonight = lots of old faces, lots of tears (I always cry at weddings), and lots of drinking. Its going to feel like I'm partying at Bridges, circa 2003. Loves it! Everyone have a good weekend!!!
