Whooo! Post #100

I can't believe it. #100. What a milestone. Ok, NOT.

So, you know the days when you wake up early.
Because you want to get to work early.
So that you can leave work early.

Well, that was the plan today. Then I saw THIS.
And I had to, I mean, HAD TO, do it right now.
So, I did. Here is my take on the AshleyWren jack.
That girl really inspires me. Like oh-so-much.

And did this one last night.
We've gone on a lot of mini vacations.
Snowboarding in Vail.
Universal Studios in Orlando.
Bethany Beach last summer.
But this was our first big girl/big boy vacation.
A vacation that included passports.
And long lines at customs.
And converting $$ to pesos.
I really hope there are more vacations like this one.
There is no better feeling than having your passport stamped with yet another cool place in the world. =)

Today, I feel happy. Excited that its almost Friday.
There is a three day weekend coming up!
Can I get a Hell Yeah?!?!?
Seriously...get up and SHOUT it!
Did you do it?

Yeah, That's Right...

I totally scrapped! And not just 1 page, but 3. And I'm even working on #4 right now while Matt plays his nerdy computer games in the other room. We are total geeks and I love it. Anywho, without further ado, here they are. The second one was done while hanging out with Vee on Sunday. Good times, people.

So, I have decided that for the month of September I will not be eating out. I will totally give myself mad props if I can hold off for that long. It's not that I eat out THAT much. I eat out on days where I wake up late and don't have time to pack a lunch. Or the days where I'm having a craving for super spicy Thai food. Or for the hungover mornings when you just need some greasy food to help you through the day. So, can I go 30 days? Probably. But it won't be easy.

Oops, I Did It Again!

I cut my hair off again.
Last Wednesday.
In Chicago.
With a girl named Heather Rae.
Who was fabulous, btw.
She had a fashionable Euro-Mullet.
I could immediately tell she would rock it.
She was fun and sassy and totally adorable.
And I truly LOVE the cut.
Having shorter hair is addicting.
Not to mention super easy to style.
So here it is.

And I'm feeing SOOOOOOOO much better today.
Nothing a few Margaritas at this place couldn't fix.
Happy Saturday friends!

Eight Twenty Four Oh Seven

It's been a rough day.
I am working a 6 day work week.
I am tired from traveling.
I am tired from working.
I am frustrated at life.
I am annoyed with Matt.
I am feeling overwhelmed.
I feel like crying, for no reason.
I feel bored, and hungry.
And I am feeling lonely.
I am annoyed beyond words.
But a quiet kind of annoyed.
Silently keeping to myself.
Not expressing any emotions.
Just here. Thinking. Reflecting.

I hope to feel better tomorrow.
Check back then for more of my usual self.

Hey, Hey, We're the Monkeys!

That song is stuck in my head. Why? I have no clue! But, its a happy upbeat song for a Friday, don't you think? Splendid!

So, last night was eventful. I went to my very first Shiva at my friend Jodi's house. Her grandmother died recently and so of course I had to show her my support. I had never been to any jewish religious type gathering before. I loved being able to see that. So interesting.

Then, met up with a friend at Barnes & Noble. We were aimlessly walking around when I saw this book. I had heard of it before. But once I started opening the pages and revealing its magic, well, I just had to have it. Highly recommend.

Then, I remembered today that I have yet to pre-order this gem! So, I rushed over to Amazon and did so first thing this morning. 5 more days people!

Tomorrow, I leave for this wonderful city. I am going there for work, but more importantly, I get to see two of my very good friends. Two, crazy, party loving, super fun girls. I love Chi-town!

This. Cracks. Me. Up. Every single time. I love cat humor.

My little sister is coming to my house tonight to get her scrap on for the very first time. This makes me so incredibly happy. Who knows, maybe by the end of the night I can convince her to join the madness over at SIStv. That would be bliss. Farewell my lovely readers.

If you really want to piss me off...

Do one of the following things. We all have pet peeves. Here are some of mine.

1. Slow Drivers - If you're going to drive slow, just do me a favor? Get the fuck out the left lane!! It's not called the "passing" lane for no reason. I can't stand it when someone is in the left lane going ridiculously below the speed limit. And then you flash your lights at them, and they either don't understand your polite gesture, or get pissed off that you are bringing it to their attention that they suck at life. You want to drive slow, asshole? FINE. Just get over to the right and please get out of the way!

2. Driving while on your cell phone - Ok, another car related annoyance of mine. Many of the people that are driving like idiots are these cell phone talking people. People - get an earpiece! How hard is that? I swear some law needs to get passed about this. Its not only annoying. It's really dangerous.

3. Dirty Bathrooms - Ok, so most public bathrooms are a nightmare. But, the ones that really irk me are bathrooms that shouldn't be a disaster. Like, my office building bathrooms, for example. I mean, hello people!! We are all professional adults here. Not 3 year old children. The last thing I want to see in a work environment is pee all over the seat. Grow up people! And learn some manners while you're at it.

4. Rude, Inconsiderate People - I can't stand it when you hold the door out for someone and they don't say thank you. When that happens to me I always want to give them a piece of my mind. But, then, I'd be the rude person.

5. Lazy Elevator People - I hate it when you get on an elevator and there is someone who is just going up ONE floor. Especially when it would have been 3 times faster, and 20 times healthier, to take the stairs. Elevators are meant for the handicapped. Or for when you're going up the 90 floors of the John Hancock building. I don't know why this really irks me but it does. Maybe because so many people complain about their weight and they aren't even doing the smallest things that could help their health.

6. (some, not all) Celebrity Spending- Dude, I totally acknowledge the fact that they work hard and deserve all their money. But, when there are millions of children going to bed hungry every night, how can they be so financially irresponsible? Is it really necessary to have 6 cars, 2 motorcyles, 3 houses, flat screen tvs in your bathroom, and closets and closets full of clothes? All I know is that if I ever have half the money they have I will do a lot of good with it. Yes, I will treat myself right, but I will always think of the others who are not as lucky. I grew up with this mentality.

Man, I had a lot to say. I hope this post didn't bore you guys. I'd love to hear your thoughts on all this. And what gets under your skin? Happy Thursday!

Ready for a Picture Overload?

Here are the pics from our recent trip to the Dominican Republic.

This is water aerobics. Awesomely hilarious. And so much fun.

Catalina Island. Wearing nerdy life preservers and big smiles.

Once a gymnast. Always a gymnast.

We took about84 self portraits. This was #28.

My little swimmer, rocking the white shades. Yeah baby.

I love the non-traditional shots. Fun. Fun. Fun.

Self portrait #45. Love this one.
Jumping off the dock into super shallow water.

Only crazy people jump off in their underwear. =)

The last picture of the vacation. We were sad that it was over.
And last, some scrappies from today.

Is the weekend really over? Ugh.

A New Love

How come it took me so long to discover Law and Order SVU?

While in the DR, I happened to turn on the tv and there they were. Elliot and Olivia. I was immediately hooked. Like, instantly in love. This show is so good. So good, that the first thing I did when I got home was do a search for it on cable and now I have about 20 episodes DVRed. Yesss! I can't believe that a girl who grew up loving shows like Matlock, just now realized that there is a modern and way more interesting version. So, tonight I will run to Nordstrom, Michaels, and Whole Foods, and then settle my pretty butt down in front of the tv while I have a SVU/scrap marathon. It's good to be home. =)

I'm Baaaccckk!

Hello Blogland!

I have missed you all. I apologize to my loyal readers for my absence. I meant to post before I left but as we all know, things get kinda crazy before vacations. Passports get left at home, confirmation numbers get misplaced, and then you have to worry about how you're going to avoid paying $90 for parking at the airport. Needless to say, everything went smoothly. Well, almost. We missed our connecting flight in Miami last night and ended up spending the night there. But at least we had some delicious Cuban Sandwiches at some awesome Latin restaurant in Miami - there is always a bright side. Now it's time to upload pictures, take a nap, and eat a fabulously good homecooked meal. Adios readers!
