Need A Good Laugh?

Then look no further. My cousin Michelle found this hilarious picture of us circa 1986. I love how she looks all girly in her pretty red dress and baby doll shoes. And then there's me. Looking like a boy. Standing like a boy. Haircut like a boy. What were my parents thinking? I guess they put me in my older brother's hand-me-downs that day. Bwahaha.

And speaking of my cousin Michelle...super congrats to her for buying her very own place!! She moves in today and I couldn't be happier for her. She better have a house-warming party with lots of food and cocktails or else I will be truly disappointed. When did we get old enough to buy houses and have grown up lives? I miss the days back in 1986.

He Liked It, He Really Liked It

So I made the boy a mini-book for his birthday. And yes, I know what you're thinking. A scrapbook is not an ideal present for a boy. But he actually loved it. I made it so that he would have to participate. A fill-in-the-blank type book. Sorta like a time capsule. And he totally saw my vision and appreciated it. Or maybe he was just pretending because he had already received his other presents....Seasons 9 & 10 of South Park. But he swears that this mini was his best present this year. Here are a few snapshots of the book, and as you can see, he has already filled it out. Sweet.

In other news, I did not participate in Last Scrapper Standing this year. I'm totally bummed about this. Especially since I didn't do it last year because I heard about it one day too late. Life was just too busy this past week. But that's ok. C'est la vie, right? So, I will be anxiously awaiting until next year. But, I have to say, after seeing all the fantastic entries, I didn't have a chance in hell. So it all worked out. Goodbye my little blogger friends.

And Another One

Happy Birthday to my most favorite person in the entire world. This man deserves nothing but the best on his special day, and every day for that matter. He is the kindest, most giving, and selfless human being I know. He cooks me dinner almost every night. He cleans up the house 100x more than I ever will. And he makes me laugh so hard that my insides start to cramp up. This man even offers to buy me Hambly products because he knows how much I love them. He knows me inside and out and still loves me. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I am thankful every single day that he is all mine. So, let's raise a glass and toast to my sweet Matty. Happy 28th my love.

Have you Ever...

Been a tourist in your own city? Like, put on the backpack, take out a map, strap on a camera and and look like a nerdy type tourist? Ok, so maybe I didn't use a map, but I did bring the DSLR. Plus, I hadn't seen the new WWII memorial so I felt the need to go. And I found a statue of Simon Bolivar that I didn't even know existed. And hello people, Bolivia is named after him, so I thought that was pretty cool. And yes, I'm standing in third position below....once a ballerina, always a ballerina I suppose.

Sitting on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

And you know I have to take a jumping shot. It's tradition.

And Matt took this. He loves it. But I just think its funny looking.

Anyways, my scrap mojo is gone. If you have seen it, please call 555-MOJO. I am desperate people. LSS is boggling my mind. I am dying to tackle the Sarah B scrapjack. AND, I have a 12 hour scrap sesh in store for Saturday. Eeeeeek.

And happy birthday to my favorite flower dancing, Wii playing, funny girl...Daniela! I wish I could come to your bar crawl on Saturday but you know I will be there in spirit. Love you!

She Thinks He Looks Like My Brother

For some reason, Kristi thinks that Matt and I should be related or something.
Not only does this make me almost pee my pants laughing...
But it kinda grosses me out a little too. Ewww people.

At least she'd be happy to know that he reads her book.

So, I was watching The Biggest Loser. Why? Because I LOVE THAT SHOW. I seriously love watching the contestants lose weight. It's fascinating, really. I love seeing them transform into healthier versions of their former selves. It really is inspiring to me.

And dude...speaking of TV....new episodes of SVU start in one week!
I love me some Elliot and Olivia. Why is TV so addicting?

Hit it with the Coolness

Do you have any idea how amazing these girls are?
Do you have any idea how much crazy fun I had this weekend?

We ate, we drank, we cropped, we traded goods, we laughed, we barely slept, we shopped, and we all wish that the weekend didn't have to end. We even got yelled at by rude restaurant owners. Good times people. Good times.

We MUST do this again. Preferably sooner versus later.

Dude, we must have ESPN or something!

I think I am suffering from my very first scrap hangover. I did so many back to back layouts last week that lately I've just felt creatively drained. My damn mojo better come back....Saturday is a big scrapping day and I need to be in the zone. Dude...did I mention I'll be hanging with some of the coolest girls ever? Words can't express my excitement!!

So, you want to know what I did this past weekend? I went partying in Gtown...with my parents!! And you know what? I had so much fun! Its funny because 5 years ago, I would have been so embarrassed to go out on a Saturday night, in Gtown of all places, with my mom and dad. As if people! But that funny thing called maturity can really make you do crazy things...like take back-to-back shots with your dad. Ok, now I'm just exaggerating! Anyways, my uncle was here from Russia. He's the Bolivian ambassador to Russia. Um, can you say cool? How come I can't have cool job? Anywho...here are pics....

Check out my mom's hair. She'd be thrilled to know I posted it.

In the car, on the way home. With my little sister. So happy she was home!

Isn't it the best when you make a funny face, without telling the other person, and they do it too? We must have ESPN or something. hahahahaha.

Did you know I love taking pictures of myself? No, I'm not vain. I just love seeing how ridiculous they turn out. I leave you with the stupidest, funniest, craziest, ugliest picture of the weekend. I had no idea my mouth could do that.....Adios amigas!
And adios to my one amigo....yes, that's you Marc! =)

P.S. If you really think I meant ESPN, and not ESP, then you must be DUM. B. Jk!

The Jacks are Done!

I am so incredibly happy I participated in all seven DareJacks.
Not only were they so much fun, but it really gave me a great sense of accomplishment.
I am known for starting things and not finishing them.
But I actually did every last one and I am so happy with not only the results, but with myself for sticking with it.
Now I'm getting all excited for LSS#2 to start. Oh man, the excitement!
Here is my take on the Missy DareJack.
I love this page oh so very much!
It makes me feel all happy inside every time I look at it.

Dude! Winter is around the corner. And you know what that means...snowboarding season!! I can't wait for Burton to release all their new boards and jackets and clothes. Ahhh...the excitement is killing me!

I leave you with a picture of me snowboarding last year in vail. And by snowboarding, I mean, falling on my face and eating powder. Hopefully there will be less of that this year. =)

And I got to thinking...

I am one of those weirdos who still talks to all of her ex-boyfriends. Some of them I now consider some of my closest friends. And some are just people who pop in and out of my life from time to time, whether it be an email, a phone call, a random run-in at some local DC bar.

Once upon a time I dated this boy named Adam. He was tall, skinny, and blonde. Totally not my type, but somehow it worked. He lived in Miami, I lived in VA. We did the long distance thing for quite some time. And then one day I broke his heart. I thought I'd never talk to him again. I'll cut to the chase and tell you that we're friends now. Lately, I've been emailing with him. So much has changed since I saw him 2.5 years ago. He joined the Coast Guard. He's married. He even has a little baby girl. He has changed so much. And I got to thinking...

What have I done in the last 2.5 years?

So, now I'm all pensive and what not. Totally soul searching. Trying to figure out the answer to my own question. Have I done enough?

Anyways, I did some scrapping during the fabulously long weekend. Mostly trying to finish up all my layouts for the DareJacks! 5 down, 2 to go. This is my take on the Meghan jack. Totally out of my comfort zone. And I love that I wrote out all my aggressions with work, but not loving the page overall. Oh well. At least its already tuesday! I'm out.
